The Market
What Actually Drives Business in Dallas
Dallas–Fort Worth added more corporate relocations than any metro in the country over the last decade — AT&T, Toyota North America, Charles Schwab, McKesson. That relocation wave built a business base that is unusually top-heavy: enterprise HQs sitting directly on top of a dense field of family-owned trades, medical practices, and professional services firms competing for the same ZIP codes.
A Dallas buyer is comparison-trained. Between the Metroplex’s ad density and a transplant population that arrived from somewhere else, almost nobody buys the first thing they see. They shop. Which means your marketing does not have to close — it has to survive the comparison.
Why Isn’t Your Dallas Marketing Producing Leads?
Dallas businesses have many marketing agency options, but choosing the right partner can be challenging. Some agencies focus on websites, Google Ads, and monthly reporting without connecting those activities to a clear lead-generation strategy. A polished presentation and a dashboard full of metrics don’t necessarily translate into more qualified leads.
The Real Problem Isn’t “Bad” Agencies
I am not going to spend this page telling you the other Dallas agencies are bad. Most of them are not. They are unaccountable, which is a different problem and a worse one — a bad agency gets fired, an unaccountable one gets renewed for six more months while everyone agrees it is still early.
Featured Principle — The Two Meanings of ROI
The ROI You See Isn’t Always the ROI You Earn
There are two meanings of ROI and confusing them costs Dallas businesses real money. The first is the backward-looking ratio on your monthly report — revenue over spend, in a chart. The second is the Result of Investment: what happened because of the marketing that would not have happened anyway. Those are different numbers and frequently point different directions.
An agency can show you a strong ROI figure built almost entirely on customers who were already coming. I measure incrementality, not attribution — which is why I will sometimes tell a Dallas owner to cut a channel that looks profitable, and be right.
That is The Two Meanings of ROI, one of the laws and principles every engagement runs through. Related: The Four Core Marketing Abilities.
Picture a stadium parking lot on game day — sixty thousand cars, every space full. Now picture a small lot with four hundred cars where every driver came specifically to see you. Which do you want? Every owner says the stadium. Every owner is wrong.
TRAFFIC IS NOT THE PRODUCT. QUALIFIED TRAFFIC IS.
The Difference
How I Work Differently in Dallas
Everyone talks about strategy. I show the work. I do not hand a Dallas business owner a deck. I open the ad account on a shared screen and walk through where the money is going, line by line, while they watch. Most of the time we find something in the first twenty minutes. I do not argue that I am better than the incumbent. I open the account. The account settles it.
01
Real Conversion Tracking First
I have opened GA4 and found conversions reported as 0.82. As 0.04. We do not get 0.82 of a person — we only get whole people. A fractional conversion number means the platform is counting page views and calling them customers. Every decision built on that number is fiction.
02
Built to Be a Long-Term Partner
Over $1.5 billion placed in advertising since 1999 and more than 12,000 campaigns built. While the industry average client retention is eighteen months, ours is over five years—reflecting the long-term relationships we build with our clients.
03
Accountability Goes Both Ways
I have refunded clients when my team underdelivered — the part nobody puts on a capabilities deck. If the work is good, the contract is unnecessary. If it is not, the contract is a trap.
